About us

We are Norfolk hobby Beekeepers who for us is more than just about the honey! Bees should be cared for like any other animal - kept in clean surroundings (clean wax), have adequate food (plenty of honey for themselves, pollen too), be kept free of disease and allowed to fly free.

Keeping our bees and processing the excess honey crop takes up much of our spare time!. The carefully chosen apiary sites, all situated just outside of Downham Market, Norfolk are located to enable the bees to forage both gardens and the open countryside. Therefore the honey harvested by the bees reflects the broad spectrum of local pollens and flavours of the flowers, trees and crops

Natural honey will have a distinct flavour note depending on where the bees have been foraging.

Raw honey will granulate or become solid over time, this is a mark of good, natural honey that has not been heat treated. You can make granulated honey runny again by slowly warming it up, by placing the jar with the lid loosened in a pan of warm water.

Creamed honey or (set) honey is still 100% honey, (no dairy products involved) but churned over time until it takes on a buttery consistency, best served on buttered toast or on crumpets.
